Sawtooth Ranch: Located in Catron County. Just east of Pie Town NM. Catron County is known for
some of the best elk Hunting in Western New Mexico. Adjacent to the Sawtooth Mountain Range. This
area produces 350-375 class bull elk annually. 7824 deeded acres and 1137 leased acres, in unit 13. The
New Mexico Department of Game and Fish has designated the area 13 for long-term trophy management
and restricts elk hunting to Archery and Muzzleloader rifle, primitive weapons only. The Sawtooth Ranch
receives 15 +- landowner bull tags annually and 4-6 antlerless elk tags annually.. Trophy elk hunting and
cattle ranches surround the Sawtooth ranch on three sides, and Cibola National Forest borders on the
east.
. Quality Mule Deer in the 180- 200" class also roam the property. Over the counter ranch only tags are
available. Pronghorn occupy the lower plains and over the counter ranch only tags are available.
. Situated in the pristine rolling highlands of northern Catron County at 7200 to 9000 feet, The Sawtooth
Ranch is mostly woodland comprised of a mix of pinion pine, alligator juniper and ponderosa pine. Herds
of elk, mule deer and pronghorn are native to the property's hills, meadows and draws, the ranch also
supports cattle if desired. Mountain lion and bear are present also. This magnificent hunting retreat has
a relatively mild climate, year-round access. Springerville AZ is 1.5 hours west. Phoenix is 5 hours away,
Albuquerque is only 2.5 hours away, Santa Fe, 3.5 hours, both via Hwy 60. The ranch has five miles of
frontage on Highway 60.
